PRP facial is a medical facial that can be personalized to many ageing concerns for all age groups. Blood cells and plasma have regenerative properties and cells can rejuvenate skin, tendons, and bones, and when injected into the face, stimulate firmer and younger looking skin. As the procedure uses the patient’s own blood, it is metaphorically referred to as the “Vampire Facial”. Plasma is a component present in blood (55%) and consists of around 93% water. It carries the red blood cells, white blood cells, platelets and lots of other important proteins and minerals around the body. PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma) is the part of the blood that’s left when the red blood cells and other factors have been removed leaving just the platelets which contain antibodies and proteins our body uses to repair damaged skin cells. PRP is packed with the growth factors and stem cells needed to rejuvenate skin. PRP injections below the dermis the help restore color, tone and texture as well as literally rejuvenating new and younger tissue.

PROCEDURE 

The Vampire technique involves collecting a sample of your own blood  and separating its components through a centrifuge  machine,  in order to isolate and concentrate your platelets into the plasma. This substance is called 'Platelet Rich Plasma' or PRP. After the treated area is cleansed an anaesthetic cream is applied to reduce discomfort. The area which is to be treated is then treated with the Derma stamp which creates thousands of tiny contact points to the affected encouraging your skin to naturally repair itself.  The PRP obtained is then massaged in to the skin. Inside your skin, platelets contained in PRP release growth factors at a slightly increased concentration compared with normal blood. This stimulates deep cell processes, resulting in increased cell activity, producing components, such as collagen and elastin fibres, which are responsible for the elastic properties of the skin. The PRP therapy is an ideal treatment for fine lines, wrinkles,  hair loss enlarged pores and acne scars.

RECOVERY

Results appear within weeks of the first injection, they will develop further over the following 2-3 months and results can last up to 12-18 months. In terms of quality and durability we would recommend a course of Vampire Facials®.

Are there any side effects?

​

As The Vampire Facial uses your own blood there is minimal risk of complications and certainly less so than with other synthetic products. Your face may look a little pink immediately after treatment but this will settle after a couple of hours. You may also have temporary minor bruising.
